Time To Break The Patterns That Hold You Back.  Dr. Duke Explains.

I just got back from my company event. You know how it goes… The big income earners that are out there and crushing it in their business walk across the stage and collect their oversized checks and nice new shiny piece of hardware saying how good they are.

You’ve tried to replicate what they do.

You listen to everything they say. You are on every call. Every webinar.

You’ve even bought all their products that explicitly TELL you how they are doing what they are doing!

Yet at the end of the day, when you go home and check your bank account because you know the bills are piling up and your spouse has been hovering around you getting ready to ask…

“How much money have you made this month?”

She can smell the blood in the water and knows that NOW is the time to go in for the kill and tell you why you need to GET A REAL JOB! You know it’s coming, it’s been months and you still have nothing to show for it.

You can’t even defend yourself because you have no defense.

You haven’t made any money…

WHAT IF I COULD SOLVE THAT TODAY?

What IF…. you already knew all the answers…

What IF… you have been given all the tools…

What IF… you should have been making money this whole time…

What IF… The ONLY reason you can’t look your spouse in the eye and tell her that you made a profit this month is because you haven’t made one small tweak in your thought process.

NOTE: If you think this is a bunch of hooey then you can continue to go on hiding from your spouse in fear of the conversations to come.

YOUR BUSINESS IS LIKE FLYING A KITE

Everyone starts holding their kite in their hand with their two feet firmly planted on the ground. Yes, even the #1 income earner that you see on stage starter with no downline, no list, and no profit in the very beginning. We all start at zero.

You grasp your kite between your fingers and switch the string to your other hand and then you start to run, holding your kite up as high as you can hoping that a gust of wind will catch it and take it soaring high up into the sky so that everyone can see it.

The initial running is what you have to do in the beginning to get your business off the ground and once you hit momentum that is where the wind takes a hold of it. You can step back and just watch it soar to new heights, barely having to move left or right to sustain it.

Unfortunately You Are Trying To Fly Your Kite Indoors

There isn’t enough room for you to run to gain enough speed. There are walls built up around you in all directions so there is no wind to lift up your kite.

Heck, you can’t even see the sun because there is a roof over your head.

You are trapped with no sunlight, no room to run, and no breeze to pick you up.

What you don’t realize is that you erected the walls that surround you. You put them together so that no wind could pass through.

You even built the roof over your head so that you couldn’t see the sun. You have created an environment that you cannot succeed in. It isn’t possible.

What you need to do now is stop staring at the kite in your hand and start LOOKING FOR THE DOOR that will take you outside.

Only once you have stepped outside can your KITE FLY.

ENOUGH CONCEPTS, LET’S BREAK IT DOWN…

Step 1 – Pick a situation where you currently view yourself as failing.

Example – talking to a prospect on the phone

Step 2 – Ask yourself “How does the surrounding environment occur to you?”

Example – impossible, cold, hard, lonely, uphill battle

Step 3 – How does it make you feel physically?

Example – feet start shaking, sweat profusely, stutter over words

Step 4 – Ask yourself “Who are you being at the time?”

Example – scared, filled with doubt, lack confidence…

So let’s summarize….

You are putting an unconfident individual filled with self doubt in a harsh, cold, impossible environment where they constantly stutter over their words and you are expecting them to succeed.

Do you see the insanity of that? You are forming walls around yourself and topping it off with a nice solid roof.

You are trying to FLY your KITE INDOORS!

Do you know how I know this is the TRUTH?

If it wasn’t, then why is it that you can talk to a friend on the phone without hesitation, without difficulty.

Sit there calmly relaxed and have a fun conversation. If you can perform the same action and have a different physical, emotional, and psychological response then you are creating it in your head. It isn’t actually real, it is only real because you make it so.

Do you realize that you are afraid of a plastic non-living object that you use on a daily basis, i.e. the phone.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO…

Write the complete opposite answers to all those questions and then “live” in that world the next time you go to pick up that phone. Just recognizing that this is happening is a HUGE first step.

Next time… make it easier on yourself and just fly your kite outside.
